“I experienced 8 years of significant betrayal trauma/PTSD in my relationship resulting in a diagnosis of Depression and Anxiety in September 2022 when I entered an Intensive Therapy program (outpatient). I have been actively in weekly therapy (individual & couples) for years.
When Ketamine was first discussed by our couple’s therapist at AZRI, I did a lot of research on this type of treatment as I was against the suggestion by my individual therapist of anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medication as an option. I also did a lot of EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) over the years which does work but realized that I needed something much more powerful.
Ketamine Therapy has absolutely changed my life. The struggles with my emotional regulation, rumination, anger, depression, and ability to manage my trauma was dramatically reduced soon after the first series of Ketamine therapy. I am beyond thankful that treatment like this is not only available but so incredibly effective. I chose Ketamine Therapy at AZRI with Shannon (therapist extraordinaire!) and Katie (RN ) who are so caring and compassionate, kind, and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience for me. I highly recommend them, Ketamine and AZRI!”

Arizona Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy Institute Reviews
I was skeptical about ketamine therapy, but desperate. I have been on so many medications for depression throughout the years and never felt any spark of help from any of them. It wasn't until I had the ketamine therapy alongside the medication to open my eyes to how depression medications work and do not work. Medications themselves are not a miracle cure for depression, only I can choose to be happy, and ketamine therapy helped my find that light at the end of the tunnel.
I have long struggled with suicidal thoughts and feelings and alcoholism. At first, I was not qualified to receive ketamine therapy and treatment, due to my ongoing substance abuse issues. I was determined to find a way to be at peace with myself, and the possibility of ketamine therapy working is what kept me on-track and getting sober. After I had successfully treated my alcoholism, my depression and suicidal thoughts seemed to slowly fade away.
I had already been seeing the therapists at Arizona Relationship Institute for couples therapy, when it became apparent that dealing with my traumatic past and depression was the priority. My therapist told me about ketamine therapy, I did my own research, and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did!
